Hi John,

Another pull request intended for 3.3.  This time it's much smaller. ;)
It contains a couple of fixes for bugs that were causing oopses by
Pontus and me, one compilation warning removal and a couple of other
clean-ups and improvements. 

Please pull or let me know if there's any problem. This tree is based on
wireless-next/master.
