I couldn't find a changelog for the new firmware. Could you point me to
a changelog or provide a short summary of what changed since 3.0?

The firmware for the 2xxx series have a "click-on" license so we cannot
place it in the linux-firmware git tree. The firmwares for later
hardware (3945 and up) can be found in the git tree.

Would be interesting if any firmware crashes got fixed with that releas=
e (and
in which situations these happened). Nevertheless, good to see that Int=

still pushes updates for older hardware :)

Indeed.  But there is one boolean information we would _really_ appreciate,
for distro use:  does the update fix any potential security issues?

Because if the answer is "yes", distros that packaged the ipw22xx firmware
will want to push an update through their security update channels.

I wish I knew. I doubt it though because I am not aware of any security
issues with the firmware.

Seems to have fixed the passive scan duration issue I used to get a few
times every day, but haven't seen since updating.  Helmut fixed the
driver [1], but I'm not running that patch yet.  Need to run for a bit
longer though to be more sure of this.
