Subject: [PATCH 46/48] xfs: remove redundant buffer checks from recovery replay
Date: Tue, 13 Oct 2026 17:01:36 +1100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20261013060204.3138690-47-dgc@kernel.org> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <20261013060204.3138690-1-dgc@kernel.org>
The buffer item is now fully validated as it is decoded from the journal, so the
replay paths can trust its regions and dirty bitmap. The bitmap and region
consistency checks scattered through the buffer and inode buffer replay loops
are now redundant.
Remove the region and bitmap checks from the replay loops. The checks on buffer
contents, which cannot be validated from the log item alone, remain.
