Sorry for the delay - the lawyers were pondering the GNU FDL Vrs the
Creative Commons license (and settled on the latter). So now that's
resolved,
I've updated the copyrights in the doc sources and put them in a git tree:
git://oss.sgi.com/xfs/cmds/xfsdocs.git
This repository is XFS group writable on oss.sgi.com. The directory
structure
corresponds to (a subset of) the internal ptools tree below
xfs-cmds/xfsdocs.
Since the files in this repository are binary, you'll need to co-ordinate
check-out/check-in to avoid merge failures (git handles binaries but
can't merge
them). I think Eric and/or others inside Redhat will have the first go
at it :)
I also regenerated the PDFs and committed them too since they're also
present
in the internal ptools tree.
Thanks

Russell, can you add this to the list of repositories to be displayed on
http://oss.sgi.com/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi
?
Talking about that any chance you could convert your cvsimport
repositories to bare repos like all the others on oss? And maybe
move the old xfs-cmds import under cattelan/ like the other cvsimport
ones?

Mark, John, & SGI - thanks for doing this, getting good docs out under a
license like this should allow them to continue to be relevant living
documents, and will add to the vitality of XFS in the future, I'm sure.
Now of course I'll need to step up and contribute some updates. :)
Thanks,
-Eric

I moved cvsimported xfs-import dmapi-import and xfs-cmds under archive.

Rus, I didn't know that tree existed - it now has incorrect copyright
notices for the doc sources. However, since it's ahead of ptools
(and has cvs imported history too), I'll clone it as a replacement
and then merge in the training docs with updated copyrights. It's easier
for SGI if the official tree is git://oss.sgi.com/xfs/cmds/xfsdocs.git
since the directory structure mirrors the internal ptools hierarchy,
along with the other xfs/cmds trees.

Thanks for that.

That's cool, I'll change the web site to point to the new repo
once you have it fixed up.
Just trying to keep the clutter down.

So now we have the old xfsdocs repo replaced by what essentially be
xfsweb.
I think we should have a clean repo for the document sources somewhere,
not intermindlged with the more or less dead website..

Can you keep the website repo as xfs/cmds/xfsweb.git?
