   1. Removes the unsupported sgi and CRAY conditionals
   2. Removes the unused conditional NO_XFS
   3. Resolves compiler/configure warnings

We have let the system administrator know, with it being so close to the 
Thanksgiving holiday I am not sure how quickly this will be resolved.
