Dears,
Who can help me with building the GCC for Motorola's MPC8540ADS ?
Is there someone who have already a booting and stable Linux system?
Who has build its own GCC cross compiler (X86 dev. Machine and PPC
target)?
Hoping to receive some positive reactions,
Greatings,
PPLinux

Hi,
I did exactly what you want. Works fine. Both linux kernel and u-boot.
Try http://penguinppc.org/embedded/cross-compiling/
It's a good starting point. Let me know if it helps.
regards,
Matevz

Wait a little bit until ELDK 3.1 is out; it will solve this problem.
Best regards,

You young'uns. That was *long* before AltaVista, DejaNews, or even
(gasp) the *Web*! In fact, we typed that thread on steam-powered card
punchers, and shipped it around via Pony Express.

don't know exactly about this MPC8540ADS, but
http://www.kegel.com/crosstool/
helped with my PPC604 (PReP) setup - i'm able to compile ppc binaries
under x86 now :-)
