I'm going now for the PowerQuicc II 8260. Because of the processor, I upgraded to HHL1.2. I currently check the kernel from HHL1.2 out but there seems to be trouble in the startup sequence. Someone told me to upgrade to 2.4.0-test8 from kernel.org but configuration is somehow strange. (I don't know how make menuconfig works. If I select the SBC8260 board and the 8260 processor, the processor selection alway falls back to 6xx!) \Ruedi mark@acceleratednetworks.com on 02.10.2000 21:54:41 An: Ruedi.Hofer@ascom.ch @ MailGate Kopie: Thema: RE: Kernel 2.4.0 test8 Hi Ruedi I am just starting on investigating getting Linux for PowerPC up and running on a proprietary system. From your postings I noticed that you are in this process too. I am a newbie to Linux development but not to embedded (our systems are currently VxWorks-based). I am using RedHat 6.2 as a base. I would appreciate a pointer as to where to start on the project, eg. what source etc.? . I have the Hard Hat Linux 1.2 release, but am having problems installing (it turns out the CD has CRC problems, so I am getting a new one).
