Will there be something missing from 2.6.5 that I'm going to need? Will my CPU fan start when is too hot? Is my iBook going to sleep on low battery/lid close if I install pmud/pbbuttonsd? Is my radeon M6 supported? With DRI? Are sungem eth and airport working? Is there a working ALSA driver or I have to use the OSS one? Have USB any issue? Will HFS+ kernel module trash my OS X partition? (Is UML going to work?) Thanks for the support! -- Gioele ** Sent via the linuxppc-dev mail list. With a patch on orinoco driver, you can even put it in monitor mode (eg. to use airsnort and the like). -- Kiko ** Sent via the linuxppc-dev mail list. I talked to the xine maintainer, and it really seems like the "clacs" I hear duing DVD playback are caused by the Alsa driver (though it does acheive better lip sync), while dmasound has proper sound quality, but incorrect sync... I'll admit that I don't watch DVDs on my TiBook, so that's not part of my testing. And xine indeed seems to trigger obscure bugs in ALSA. I believe some have only been fixed for the upcoming 1.0.4 release. -- Earthling Michel Dänzer | Debian (powerpc), X and DRI developer Libre software enthusiast | http://svcs.affero.net/rm.php?r=daenzer ** Sent via the linuxppc-dev mail list. It sounds like it's playing some random piece of data in memory for maybe 0.2s. How often this happens seems to be independent of system load. The alsa driver works fine in 2.4, and IIRC also with 2.6.0 (without PREEMPT). Christiaan ** Sent via the linuxppc-dev mail list.
