My pre-ozlabs archive goes back to the end of 20031113 however others
will have much better logs of old messages - I can tarball mine if you
find that useful.

Mine goes back to early March 2003. I am, likewise, willing to tar it
up, if we can find somewhere to put it.

Mine goes back to at least January 2003. Older archives are offline on CD, but
I can check them, if needed.

Mine start at 5 Dec 1998.

But I still hope the original lists come back up again?

Hi,

I have found that the archives are available in gmane. I think those start
in november 2002, so this is less than wolfgang, but it can be useful by
now.

Me too. I was under the impression that someone was going to take over
the domain. I had a big problem finding this new list.

Why did we not host the list on vger.kernel.org so people can actually
find it.

Hi all,

Thanks to Wolfgang Denk I have recovered (some of) the old list archives.
Please see http://ozlabs.org/pipermail/linuxppc-dev/

I don't know how complete the archive is ...

This inspired me too (finally) take a look at my email archives on CDR.

Below is the list of all archives. Right now they're in pure mailbox
format and may contain some mails not sent to the mailing lists, but I
can filter them up and export them (pine export) to files per month,
without unneeded headers.

They cover the following mailing lists (doh, I didn't even remember we
used to have a list at Motorola :-):

  - linux-ppc@meetpoint.mcu.motsps.com
  - linuxppc-dev@cs.wisc.edu
  - linuxppc-dev@lists.linuxppc.org
  - linuxppc-user@lists.linuxppc.org
  - linuxppc-announce@lists.linuxppc.org
  - linuxppc-workstation@lists.linuxppc.org
  - linuxppc-bk@fsmlabs.com
  - linuxppc-commit@hq.fsmlabs.com

Stephen, if you want (some of these) to be archived at ozlabs, let me
know which ones, and I'll spend some time on it...

In personal conversations with technical people, I call myself a hacker. But
when I'm talking to journalists I just say "programmer" or something like that.

This is great! Is there a search capability provided somewhere?

Google is your friend with the "site:ozlabs.org" hint. However,
you would have to wait for their bot to harvest regularly the pages.
I added the URL[1] just minutes ago.

BTW, is there any chance to get the linuxppc-embedded archives online?

Many thanks to Stephen and Wolfgang. Archives helps a lot reducing
the FAQ trafic.

That would be great.

The following would be useful.

I think we have the rest pretty well covered.

Thanks again

Only once google starts to have it all indexed. Most people will try
google first, then post, then discover a list archive in my own
experience.
