Hi All
At Rackspace, we are working with our Barreleye servers that runs a Fedora 23 Live Hypervisor. We usually do NOT hit any issues with the mSATA device during bootup / Kexec from Petitboot.
But with Fedora 23 OS, we noticed an issue we are hitting, while we kexec from Fedora 23 Live Instance into an updated Live instance. I wanted to bring this to your notice a?nd see if guys have ever run into something similar. During the kexec process, we see errors on ATA driver resulting in failed initialization of mircron mSATA device. Ultimately the kexec process fails.
Attached is a boot log after kexec. Please look into this. We'd like to know what you guys think.
Here is lshw for micron:
/0/a1/0.0.0 /dev/sdb disk 256GB Micron_M600_MTFD
Does kexec command in Petitboot automatically unmount / power cycle all devices ? Is there something different that Petitboot does when kexec command is issued compared with other OS
?Best
Adi
