I think you can see difference for example by experimentally changeing to
    if ( 1 /* (alu != MIX_SRC) || ((planemask & PMask) != PMask)*/ ) {
	mach64ImageWriteHW(x, y, w, h, psrc, pwidth, px, py,
			   alu, planemask);
and executing XPutImage function.

As a matter of fact, I added byte/bit reordering because I didn't any
documents about Mach64 registers other than XFree86 code. Now that I
have got the documents(thanks!), I understand all should be done is
simply setting host control register appropriately, for at least
Mach64VT or above. I intend to rewrite mach64im.c faster and more
efficiently.

BTW, I think it is better to revert this to the original
 because mach64MaxX and mach64MaxY are not sizes but coordinates.
+    mach64VirtX = mach64MaxX = mach64InfoRec.virtualX;
+    mach64VirtY = mach64MaxY = mach64InfoRec.virtualY;

Using XF68_FBDevv-accel-ppc-19981204-2, I'm seeing some trashed pixels when
doing solid window moves and when scrolling, at both 8 and 16 bpp.  It looks to
me like the BITBLTs are picking up bits from the framebuffer rather than from
the window.  xrefresh puts things back in order.

Any particular thing you'd like me to try out?  The simulation I've been
beating my head against for the last several months finally started working, so
I may have a little more time to hack on Linux stuff for a while.

Well, bitblt's do pick up bits from the framebuffer and not from the system
memory. That's why it's called acceleration, the video card's graphics
engine does the moving of data within the framebuffer memory on behalf of
the X server. No idea why it does this, however, since -accel-ppc exits
on signal 11 (Segv) on my machine.

you can get all of debian/ppc from :

except the X stuff (there was some problem, the ppc maintainer is waiting for
		X3.3.3, who is still not debianized ... but it should come soon).

  - XKB maps for the US version of Apple Extended Keyboard II (Takashi Oe, but
    he says it comes from X11R6.3-?.ppc.rpm. I made the changes to the
    Imakefiles). Untested, I don't use XKB nor have ADB keyboards. BTW, these
    maps are in the source patch only.

Oh yeah, binary is linked against glibc-1.99. Source patch is relative to
XFree86 3.3.3.

On hardware for which no hardware acceleration is available yet, it will work
unaccelerated.

Furthermore you can disable acceleration by adding

    option "no_accel"

to the Device section of your /etc/XF86Config.
