Hi -

I am interested to finding out if LinuxPPC is being used to develop time
critical applications. I believe that the Linux kernel is same for all the
ports. This leaves me to figure out how well Linux kernel plays with powerPC
(Motorola). I have heard that the compiler is crapy on PPC which has caused
some performance problems in the past. Is this true?
Is Linux on PPC industrial (hardness of the OS) enough to develop applications
which will be extremely time critical in nature? for example emergency services
in hospitals or 911 service etc.
Any information on these lines is highly appreciated.

Regards,
- Ravi.
