The new Power3-II and RS64-II (only found in IBM machines) are 64 bit but have the ability to run 32 bit programs including the OS. Someone else answered the question concerning alphas and sparcs. In the intel world, everything from a 386 to the newest pentium 3/xeon/etc are 32 bit. The yet-to-be-released merced is 64 bit. Bob -- Robert E.
