hi,

i was about to compile linux-2.4-benh (fresh tree fetched via rsync)
when errors occured:

I don't know what your build system is, but I had the same error on
Debian unstable, the bug (and a patch) is here:

yes, Debian/unstable here, and it really seems to be that very bug you
pointed out. it´s even said to be fixed in the latest version of
console-tools, so i´ll have to wait until it hits my mirror of choice.
