Yeah, this makes sense. Indeed pretty easy to trigger [if poll interval
increased to 3 seconds, for example].

cd_status was a bitfield, so I thought that bit operations would be
appropriate. :-)

-ENOSYS (not implemented) sounds better for this purpose...
