Seriously, you won't see G4's on the market until early next year, unless 
some serious strings are pulled.

when I try to boot through open firmware on my 8600 (worked fine in
r4.x) i get an error that it can't find a kernel, even though i've
deleted the symbolic link in the /boot and renamed the kernel to
vmlinux...
is quik not functioning in this release or is it something else?
