Mozilla preM12 ppc rpms...

I have placed a preM12 snapshot at

ftp://devel.linuxppc.org/users/ajoshi/{RPMS,SRPMS}

This build includes Franz Sirl's XPTCall port.  
Please let me know how it well it fares for everyone as we have not 
tested it much.

a tarball can also be found in /users/ajoshi

Where can I find all of the required pieces?

[root@icarus gary]# rpm -ivUh /tmp/mozilla-5.0-M11.ppc.rpm 
error: failed dependencies:
        glibc >= 2.1.3-0h is needed by mozilla-5.0-M11
        libIDL-0.6.so.0 is needed by mozilla-5.0-M11
        libgtkmozilla.so.0 is needed by mozilla-5.0-M11
        libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 is needed by mozilla-5.0-M11
        libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1.3) is needed by mozilla-5.0-M11

at least the libc stuff you can find under the address above with
fsirl/R5/RPMS iso ajoshi

devel.linuxppc.org/users/fsirl/R5/RPMS/ should have glibc

libIDL should be in the latest Orbit (the R5 orbit should be fine)

sorry, this was a mistake in my spec, you can --nodeps once you get down
to this one.

libstdc++-2.10.0-1d also from franz's directory

glibc-2.1.3 ofcourse

Thank you for doing this; I have the following problems.  Please let me know
what other information I can give you that would help.

Attempting to install the rpms gives me:

[root@sf-hughc local]# rpm -ivh moz*.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
        libgtkmozilla.so.0 is needed by mozilla-5.0-M11

Trying to run the binary from the tar file gives me:

[root@sf-hughc package]# ./mozilla

CSSLoaderImpl::LoadSheet: Load of URL 'resource:///chrome/xul.css' failed.

Error: Can't load:

at which point it hangs.

'cept that glibc-2.1.3-0h does not provide libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1.3). Guess
you need glibc-2.1.3-0j.

After installing glibc-2.1.3-0j, this thing actually runs. Good work,
Franz and Ani! Apart from the fact that on my machine

- it is deadly slow,
- it is practically unuseable with 8 bit colors,
- half of the menus and buttons still don't work,
- it segfaults as soon as you try to enter text anywhere, so you can
  only visit URLs reachable by clicking from the home page,
- it freezes if it doesn't find a URL,

it looks like someday this could become a nice browser.
