I reported this several months ago. It has affected all kernels with the
new USB driver (post 2.2.6). I believe it is a side effect of the
USB-ADB translation. In effect you only get 2-key rollover instead of
n-key rollover. Haven't seen that since the 70's :)

It will be interesting to see if the 2.3.40 kernel works better. Judging
by Tom's comment, it looks like it's now 6-key rollover ;)

It's REAL easy to get the bad behavior by typing cd<space>
I ALWAYS get cdcd with this sequence. (note that the c and d keys aren't
released before the space is hit). It appears I'm not the ONLY one who types
like this....

I type cd like that too....I get the cdcd or the cdc a lot too....you're not
alone!! :-)

Oh it's driving me crazy!

# cdd -
cdd: Command not found.
# cdcd
cdcd: Command not found.
# cdcd
cdcd: Command not found.

Everyday.. over and over.

This is a bug that only affects fast typest.

It's a real pain cause I do "cd" a lot.

I'm sure they are getting pressed somewhat at the same time cause I do it
so fast but still it shouldn't be glitching on that.

Also, I didn't see this problem in the 2.2.6.

You are probably hitting three keys:  "cd<space>"  Anyway, this problem
occurs at the console as well as in X, however, strangely it is much worse
at the console.

USB problems in 2.2.14pre9

I'm seeing the strange problem when I type cd really fast that it comes
out as cdcd or cdc .

Other people who's used my keyboard see the same thing, but you have to
type it really fast.  It seems almost random.

I didn't see the problem until I switch to 2.2.14pre9 and
Xpmac.rage128.usb.rev6 .  I backed out of Xpmac.rage128.usb.rev6 to
XF68_FBDev because of cut-and-paste problems with Xpmac.rage128.usb.rev6
and I'm still seeing this weird "cdcd" problem.

Anyone else seeing this?

Using a more current stack (2.3.40) I can use up to 6 keys (ie press 'em
one after another and the last pressed one works) and the 7th is ignored.

Hmm, I also noticed that some combinations of keys will glitch on the
3rd keystroke.  Thinking about back when I learned about low-level
keyboard stuff, I think that some keyboards can only handle a certain
number of keys down or they report a "too many keys" code.  Perhaps this
code is not being handled correctly?  Or, maybe I'm just on crack.  (Hard
to say considering the way my day is going today)
