I was just wondering where I can find information on the status of Voodoo3 support. I noticed with my latest rsync of the 2.4.x kernel that DRI support finally compiles--but the voodoo3 module still doesn't compile. Having no experience at all in coding drivers, is there anything I can do to help out? Hank ** Sent via the linuxppc-dev mail list. I've put together a patch that should apply cleanly to the 2.2.1{6,7} kernels, and it is located here: http://www.cise.ufl.edu/~phandel/linux/patch/ Download and apply the Config.in, Makefile.in, and fbmem.c patches. If you have a 2.3.x or 2.4.x tdfxfb.c, you can patch it with the tdfx_tdfxfb.c.diff patch, or else just grab the already-patched tdfxfb.c and put it in linux/drivers/video. Thanks, Peter ** Sent via the linuxppc-dev mail list. See http://lists.linuxppc.org/ ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 3+ messages in thread

What happens to the current stable sources 2.2 when 2.4 comes out. Are the changes made to the 2.2 series merged into the 2.4. I've been very happy with the current stable tree (vanilla + prepatch + usb backport). However in order to get some really cutting edge USB stuff I;ve had to get the bk-devel tree (currently 2.4.0-test5). This has built fine and even boots OK. There are a couple of small problems: 1. Occasionally my mouse freezes in X. The only way to get it back seems to change to a different VT and back. 2. Overall the system feels somewhat sluggish when running gnome. I have lots of memory 160 MB and was wondering what was going on. Thanks - Ram PS: I have an iMac 333 MHz with 10 MB RAM and upgraded hard disk. ** Sent via the linuxppc-dev mail list.
