Is there a ready-made ramdisk for rpx-lite? I've seen
posts that indicate one exists from Monta Vista, but I
haven't been able to find it. I'm sure people in this
group have made dozens of them; are any available for
download?

Thanks,
Laura

I too am looking for a pre-setup ramdisk . But I'm looking for the one
mentioned that exists for Monta Vista. 2.4.0 kernel. Can anyone help me out
with a link?

I don't know who would have mentioned such a thing, because I'm not
aware of one. I just install a few of the RPMs, strip the libraries,
and copy the target directory to the ramdisk. Minimally, you need to
install the filesystem, bash, C library, and probably termcap (for
bash). I don't use busybox, but you can probably install that somehow
as well.

There will be lots more cooler tools available soon, but this is
the method I am using now.

We have an example ramdisk image on our FTP server (to be used with
PPCBoot, but you can strip off the 64 byte header easily:
	dd if=SIMPLE-PPCBOOT-ramdisk of=ramdisk.image.gz bs=64 skip=1
); see ftp://ftp.denx.de/pub/LinuxPPC/usr/src/SIMPLE-PPCBOOT-ramdisk
