405 Walnut Status?

405 Walnut Status?

What kind of shape is the 405 Walnut code in ppc.bitkeeper.com:5000
linuxppc_2_4_devel kernel?

I can't figure out how to even config and compile it.  I tried the
walnut_config and head_4xx.S dies of an unrecognized opcode (as did an
earlier attempt at a config).  Looking further, things seem missing
(for example in walnut_setup.c, arch/ppc/mm/Makefile,
asm-ppc/processor.h).

Did I start with the wrong kernel?

As of last week, it should build and boot.  There have been some
updates to the bootloader I haven't verified, but it should work.

Are you actually using the BK tools?  If so, you should 'bk clone',
then go into the directory and 'bk -r get', 'make walnut_config',
'make oldconfig', 'make dep', 'make zImage'.......

Ahhh, I think I figured it out.  In the top level makefile, we forgot
to define ARCH to be ppc, and CROSS_COMPILE to be powerpc-linux-

Now 'make walnut_config' does something interesting.

I'll try a build and see if it comes together...
