Hi there,

I am trying to get the latest kernel sources.

But "bk clone http://source.mvista.com/linuxppc_2_4_devel linux/"

results today (!?) in

drainErrorMsg: Unexpected response:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">

Has anyone else the same problem?

BTW which one has the most recent source: ppc.bkserver.net oder
source.mvista.com???

Cheers,

Steven

Yes. Just noticed it yesterday...somebody will get it fixed.

source.mvista.com is a mirror of ppc.bkserver.net. I'm using
ppc.bkserver.net for now.

Er, there's a problem? I didn't know you could do a clone from the
http one, just the bk:// version. I'll try updating the bk version
running on source later this afternoon.

bk://source.mvista.com/tree does work tho.
Did the http version ever work?

Since I am sitting behind a proxy/firewall HTTP seems to be the only way
to get the sources.

I could clone the tree from http://ppc.bkserver.net. bk pull and bk
resync worked as well.
But bk:// and http:// should get me the same results, don't they?

Is it posible at all to use bk:// through a proxie server?
If so, please tell me how. Which Port?
The BitKeeper docs aren't exactly very detailed.

Cheers,

[hands waving]

Didn't work yesterday using the bk URI...perhaps it's intermittent. :)

Well I never got it to work and since I never read anything from anyone that
it works assumed it just was not implemented.

But now I did some more testing and it turns out that bk when using http://
thru a firewall really do need the port number part of the http_proxy env
variable or else it won't work.

Okay. This specific problem has a simple cause. source.mvista.com runs
an actual webserver. So, if you're behind a strict proxy:
bk pull http://ppc.bkserver.net/tree_name
If there's enough interest and people affected willing to test, I'll
see if we can setup some automagic redirect, but I suspect this will
fail since data would still be on port 14360.

Okay. Regarding the flakiness Matt noticed, I upgraded bk again, and
if you don't get something similar to this:
$ bk version
BitKeeper/Free version is bk-2.0pre3.1 20010918150405 for x86-glibc22-linux
Built by: lm@glibc22.bitmover.com
Built on: Tue Sep 18 10:48:28 PDT 2001

Go ahead and upgrade and try again.
