From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 Return-Path: Message-ID: <3C17E07F.7144B7BF@seranoa.com> Date: Wed, 12 Dec 2001 17:55:59 -0500 From: Andrew Dixon MIME-Version: 1.0 To: ppclist Subject: root=/dev/nfs on sbc8260 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Sender: owner-linuxppc-embedded@lists.linuxppc.org List-Id: Hi everyone - I'm having some trouble getting my root filesystem mounted via nfs on an sbc8260. I'm using Linux-2.4.15 and PPCBoot-1.1.2. I have both configured to use fcc2 for the ethernet but it looks like Linux can't use the ether net or something. In my server's log I see linux being downloaded but there isn't even a request to mount the root file system. I've used this nfs server before with the same root filesystem (the difference was that I was using a Mach kernel) so I am 99.44% sure that the server is not the problem. Any insight that people could give would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Andy Here's the boot log: -- BOOTP broadcast 1 got BOOTP packet (src=67, dst=68, len=300 want_len=300) Filtering pkt = 0 Bootfile: est2/vmlinux [BOOTP] Received fields: NetOurSubnetMask : 255.255.255.0 NetOurGatewayIP : 172.16.1.254 NetOurHostName : est2 NetOurRootPath : est2/ Got good BOOTP ARP broadcast 1 Got good ARP - start TFTP TFTP from server 172.16.1.202; our IP address is 172.16.1.162 Filename 'est2/vmlinux'.
