Does anyone know if there is a maximum size of the memory region allocated at boot time by the bigphysarea patch? In particular, under a 2.4.19 kernel, with 1GB of RAM, can 512MB or more be reserved?

Does this patch even work on the PPC architecture ? I thought it was an
x86-only patch ... ??
