Hi,
Since I am using an MPC8250VR for a new project, I wondered if it was a
smart idea to use it's PCI interface for expansion to other boards.
How well is PCI for the MPC8250 supported in the 2.4.x kernels?
Are there any succesfull implementations?
In this list I only read about trouble with the 8250 PCI :)
Are there any success stories?
Jos

In our case, we are using PCI quite successfully for simple data pushing
to another device (8245 writes) and DMA is only limited by a (known)
silicon bug in the DSP revision.
Master-Read operations from the PPC memory over PCI have currently a
problem, but we are not able to pinpoint it to either the PPC or the
DSP.
I don't think PCI on the PPC side is a problem though :-/

I think this is normal, and it is no indication of any special
prolems. You just don't need to ask for help if you was successful.

Sure. We run Linux without problems on a couple of 8250 systems,
including PCI support.

We have PCI working on a 8266 without any problems.
