I need gcc 2.6.3 source that will compile under Linuxppc
with gcc2.9.5 installed.
I am trying to build the 68HC11 cross compiler but it will only
work with gcc 2.6.3. For some reason the only source i can
find will not work with ppc. to add to the fun gnu.org no longer
has 2.6.3 on there site.
any help?
thanks

gcc-2.6.3 did not support Linux/PPC. It may not have supported
SVR4/ELF PowerPC ABI used by Linux/PPC at all.

nuts....
i have gotten the source for 2.8.1 to "sorta" work
with a new patch of the 68HC11 compiler. but under
2.9.5 i get some new errors.
has any one ever gotten the 68HC11 compiler to work
with 2.8.1 or will i be out on my own for this one.

As I recall, there were patches floating around in the LinuxPPC group adding
support. True they weren't in the FSF repository, but they were available as
part of the initial LinuxPPC that Gary put out. Of course the changes for SVR4
to LinuxPPC are fairly minimal (change crt files and -D macros if I recall).
