Looking at the comment: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=220651#c4, I am deducing 2 things:

1. You need AER for a driver you are writing
2. AER was working before 6.1

I think finding the cause of the regression would be better than disabling the thing itself right?

And if disabling AER has its benefits, please write a proper commit message.
