Is anyone working on a MacroMedia Flash player for PPC linux?
IMO it would be really useful (tm) to have. The source is available
from http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/open/licensing/
If no one is working on it I will take a hack at it.
Yes I've heard plugins don't work in PPC linux however if the flash code
was ported perhaps that would be an incentive?
Please excuse my ignorance if the any of the above situations have
progressed beyond my knowledge.

I thought RealPlayer would have been an incentive...
I think the fate of Netscape plugins rests in Daniel Puertas's hands. In
the meantime, I've heard that Konqueror supports Netscape plugins - anyone
care to confirm?

all plugins should work
the latest JDK and real player will
the open source flash plugin give only a gray scren
but i think that one is inherently broken.

RealPlayer still works OK without being a plugin because the external
player is spawned regardless whereas I believe shockwave flash would
not work because it's content must be displayed within the Netscape
window.

Another possibility is Mozilla. Its M18 version is much less buggy than
previous ones, and it supports Netscape plugins. Java works now, too,
thanks to Kevin Hendricks.
