You should be using a Linux cross compiler, not powerpc-eabi-. The
Xilinx cross compiler will not work to compile Linux kernels.
You can build yourself a cross compiler using 'crosstool':
http://www.kegel.org/crosstool.
Alternately, you can download ELDK:
