Please try out the latest one. In cvs and a compiled prep image at
ftp://linuxppc.cs.nmt.edu/pub/linuxppc/kernel-images/zImage
I just added the ide changes for prep. I want to get this image tested on
all the archs just to make sure things are cleaned up for prep.
Can someone tell me about this mcp750 thing? Ian Hewitt at the Motorola
booth mentioned something about them at the Atlanta conference but I
haven't seen one or info on them. Anyone feeling generous with info or
pointers?

It a Compact PCI SBC w/ a MPC750 MPU and all the usual I/O and interfaces
you would come to expect from a Motorola board. It's very similar to an
MVME2700 except it has a DEC Drawbridge for PCI->CPCI backplane bus
whereas the MVME boards have a Universe II for PCI->VME backplane bus.
Press releases and manuals should be on he public mot.com site somewhere.

I have tried it on a machine were I use serial line as console :
No output after the ppcbug "niot" messages. I may comes only from the fact
that I have no output BUT i tried ping on the machine and it failed.
After testing on a machine with a Video board, I found that the old bug
for inflates failling was still here (with the wrong output message).
Inflates returns %d... I will send a patch enabling to print decimal
as well... NB : this bug has been reported by alois on the mailling list
with a fix and I have reposted the fix.
=> I'm not able to test anything. Did you update the CVS tree??? In that case
I may regenrate the zImage myself.

As pointed and explained the changes will break the MCP750 anyway. I would
suggest alois to enable (or write) support the WINDBOND specific ISA bridge
mapping instead of modifying code used by every board.

The main difference is the PCI/ISA bridge compared to the 2700 : VIA 82586
(doc available on VIA site) insteda of winbond...

FYI, I've had this problem on a 604e/133 blackhawk board. I worked around
it by setting the optimization level for arch/ppc/boot to -O instead of
-O2 in the makefile.
