Subject: Might be memory leak with some 2.6.9 SATA or tigon3 drivers
Date: Sun, 19 Dec 2004 10:37:00 GMT	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <04I6ITO12@server5.heliogroup.fr> (raw)

I have some Dell Optiplex gx280 where the total available memory shrinks from
roughly 800 MB to 600 MB after several days up (these boxes are on medium load).
It did append both with 2.6.8 and 2.6.9 kernel.
I had no such problem with the same kernels on the Dell Optiplex sx270.
No swaping enabled on any of the machines, and no kernel error message report.

The main difference between the two is that the sx270 use ATA and Intel
gigabit lan, and the gx280 use SATA and tigon3 gigabit lan.
At kernel configuration level, only disk and network drivers are different.
