<snip patch; can be found on lkml>
2.4.3-ac10 wouldn't boot for me without this patch.
I have only scsi cdrom(s) on an symbios 860:
Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 02 Lun: 00
Vendor: PLEXTOR Model: CD-R PX-R412C Rev: 1.03
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 04 Lun: 00
Vendor: SONY Model: SDT-5000 Rev: 330B
Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 05 Lun: 00
Vendor: PLEXTOR Model: CD-ROM PX-32TS Rev: 1.02
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 06 Lun: 00
Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: DVD-ROM SD-M1401 Rev: 1008
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
With this patch, it boots just fine.
Good luck,
Jurriaan
