2.4.8-ac2 USB keyboard capslock hang

I have a Logitech Internet USB keyboard, attached to an IBM TP T20. 

In the above system pressing Caps lock twice (i.e. switching capslock
off) freezes the system completely. 

The last system that didn't do so for me was Rosswell's kernel. 

Does anyone know about this?  Thanks a lot!

Roswell is the Red Hat 7.2 beta, so its probably another bug that was fixed
in the USB and input updates in -ac

It would be useful to know if 2.4.7ac3 say works and if so which one after
that it broke at

this bug has been around since 2.4.3-ac *at least*, and the linux-usb 
folks are aware of it [but can't get a repro].  i've had repros since 
2.4.3-ac.

this is the first time afaik that this bug has been reported on a non 
ms-natural-pro keyboard tho.

Ah - but I don't have the difficulties with the Linux beta kernel in
Rosswell (2.4.6-ac?? + red hat patches). 

It's 100% reproducible here on 2.4.8-ac2 for example - but it does
freeze the system pretty much. What can I do to help?

which begs the question - what did red hat do that fixed it?

i have tried stock 2.4.6-ac{1,2,5} and they all contained the bug.

Ah - my Rosswell was a UP version.  So we have no information really
about this bug except that it is SMP.

I tried it on an SMP box, with an SMP kernel. Worked just fine. 

The only thing is that my SMP box (IRC) has a PIIX3 chipset, not X4. The X4
laptop I used was UP, but I ran an SMP kernel on it.

The bug that I fixed was that CapsLock submitted URB while
in a callback (it was a LED control URB).

If you have to hit CapsLock _twice_ to trigger the bug,
then I think it's something different.

After extracting the kernel package, it looks like 2.4.6-ac5.
