Assorted fixes, updates & Merges.
Note, a few people sent me patches to 'merge pre8/pre9'.
Whilst I appreciate the effort, I'd rather do this myself, to get
a better idea of what I'm merging/need to drop. Thanks all the same.
(I've put out this 'resync' patch, just to stop people sending me
 these, when I'd already done it 8-)

Just a small question on the formatting of those changelogs. Have you copied 
the Style from Alan, or is this kind of program you (both) use?

It's a blatant rip-off. It wasn't something I particularly thought of,
it just happened. Maybe I just stared at one too many -ac changelogs.

May-be you mean enjoy having to check every tree of a deep forest.

For your 2.5.1 series, the enjoyers did so 13 times, for now.
How many times did they for all other trees?
