You're not alone on this issue... I have experimented the 
same problems with 2.5.64-mm5 and 2.5.64-mm6 on my 
RedHat Phoebe3 laptop. 
 
Don't know what's causing it, but haven't experienced 
this kind of freezes with stock 2.5 kernels.
