If there's one feature that I'd love to see in 2.4 it's eliminating my need
for ide-scsi completely. :)

Well that's not going to happen. It's not an isolated feature, it's a
small addon to the new block io infrastructure in 2.6.

Erm? If fresh enough cdrtools, burning over atapi works in 2.4 too...

It's a bad solution though, even ide-scsi is faster than that :)
