Testing ACPI sleep under 2.6, I noticed the following issues
(Thinkpad T40, i855PM chipset):
- USB fails on resume (sent to linux-usb-devel)
- DRI being loaded at all causes X to fail on resume
- MCE on resume:
MCE: The hardware reports a non fatal, correctable incident occurred on CPU 0.
Bank 1: f200000000000175
Are these known issues, or 'features' of suspend on this ACPI
bios?
Bill

Do you have the latest BIOS? There were some ACPI problems IBM
corrected (due to responses from Linux users!).

X power management is sorta "hope and pray" AFAIK :)

Known issue. Unload usb modules before suspending.

Known issue. See

Hum, this is strange. I saw similar messages on my laptop but they were
related to bank0-issue on athlon CPUs. No idea of what's going on there.

Windows /win'dohz/ n. : thirty-two bit extension and graphical shell to
a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded
for a four bit microprocessor which was written by a two-bit company
that can't stand a bit of competition.

Yes, with the patch there, suspend/resume of running DRI apps works
fine, even without switching VTs as suggested.

I saw a report of this occuring with APM suspend as well for one person
on a T40; may or may not be related.
