Message to the moderators of this ML.

Please don't forward this mail to this ML.
I intendedly mailed using a non-subscriber's address
so that this mail only seen to the moderators.

-----------------------------------------

Hello,

I found X-OUTRCPT-TO: header since
Linux-kernel-daily-digest Digest, Vol 8, Issue 21
(at Date: Thu, 21 Jul 2005 06:00:01 -0500).
The X-OUTRCPT-TO: header exposes recipient's mail addresses.
And recently I'm getting spam mails to the exposed address.
I want you to hide X-OUTRCPT-TO header if you can.

I sent to the person managing the list
(linux-kernel-daily-digest-owner@lists.us.dell.com)
on Mon, 1 Aug 2005 20:11:31 +0900, but no reply.
So I sent to you this time.

Regards...

No, you send it to linux-kernel@vger.kernel.org which is the list
address, and you don't need to be subscribed to post to the list so it
doesn't matter if you used a non-subscribers address. Also, the LKML
is not a moderated list.

I run the daily-digest list.

I had a note from you that this was a configuration error on your
server's part, not on the list. So I stopped worrying about it...

Hello, Matt.

Oh, really? I'm sorry.

What is funny is that ...

The mail from Matt had a X-OUTRCPT-TO header
with 2 mail addresses (my address and this ml's address),
but the mail from Jesper didn't have the X-OUTRCPT-TO header,
although both mails are sent as a reply to my mail.

The X-OUTRCPT-TO: header in a Linux-kernel-daily-digest Digest
contains 80 mail addresses including my address.

I can find X-OUTRCPT-TO header only in mails from
Matt and Linux-kernel-daily-digest Digest.

You say this is a configuration error on my server's part.
I thought this X-OUTRCPT-TO header is added at linux.us.dell.com
and delivered to 80 recipients, resulting 80 recipients can see
other 79 addresses.
OK, I'll query to the SAKURA.ne.jp whether they had changed
mail configurations recently.

Thank you very much.

It is indeed a mistake on Dell's part, and it'll be fixed
momentarily. lists.us.dell.com relays to an intermediate server
before being sent to you, and the intermediate relay was adding that
field incorrectly. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
