[1.] 2.6 series kernels panic on boot at PCI probe with 450nx (2.4.x kernels boot without hitch)
[2.] System: HP Netserver LH4s
[3.] Keywords: kernel, i450nx, PCI probe, boot, panic
[4.] Kernel version: 2.6.9-22, 2.6.9-11 by me and (2.6.6, 2.6.7 by Andrew Feldhacker)
[7.7.] For an additional example see: Andrew Feldhacker's June 2004 report at http://uwsg.ucs.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0407.0/0915.html
[X.] Other notes:
-Someone reported that Mandrake 10.2 beta did not have this problem.
-I know the legacy megaraid now requires a custom built kernel. I just can't get past the PCI-Probe to install it.

Greg,
I don't know any good way to save the oops message. I'd love a pointer
on that.
Here is a hand copy of the oops message I am seeing.

Serial console perhaps? There is documentation on how to do that in the
Documentation/ directory.

Ugh, I really wish I knew which ddevice acpi was trying to add here. It
looks like it is addding 2 pci busses with the same address, which would
be very odd. How about creating a bug in bugzilla.kernel.org and
assigning it to the ACPI group? They should be able to figure it out :)
thanks,
