With 2.6.17-rc[12] I get the following oops:

I get a similar oops on 2.6.17-rc2 compiled with gcc-4.1 and on
2.6.17-rc1 compiled with gcc-4.0.3 . 2.6.16 does not oops.

the PCMCIA controller was set up in the BIOS to be Intel PCIC compatible as
