Hi,
Is it possible to install 2.4.28 on machine with 2.6.15? I am getting
contradictory statements regarding this issue, like it is not possible to
install an older version of kernel on machine running a much newer version.
Is that true?
tnx,
Fernando

it is possible since installing a kernel is independent of the currently
running kernel.
The question is whether your userspace (IOW: your distribution)
supports kernel 2.4.28.

Adrian,
Thanks a lot for your answer. I am trying to install it on fedora 5. I guess
i should ask fedora forum about this matter.
tnx,
Fernando

Give up now. There's no static /dev, no 2.4 compatible modutils,
and a slew of other bits of userspace will be too new.

A rather more important piece is 2.6-only, IIRC: glibc!
