Hi Jens,

Just booting and testing on 2.6.17-rc5 I tripped over what looks
like a divide by zero - I guess its at block/cfq-iosched.c, line
~1657 since that do_div in there looks like the only divide...

Entering kdb (current=0xf645d530, pid 1638) on processor 3 Oops: divide error
due to oops @ 0xc02eb80e

This was fairly late in bootup. Lemme know if more info needed, I
have booted this kernel several times without problem today, so it
may not be easily reproducible.

cheers.

The patch for this was just merged in 2.6.17-rc6-git last night, so it
should be fine now. Just curious - did you have any slab debugging
features enabled?

It's a little obscure, I'm surprised to see you hit it :-)

Ah, great - thanks.

Hmm, lemme see - no, not slab for this particular build - here's
my CONFIG_DEBUG_* list:

CONFIG_DEBUG_KERNEL=y
# CONFIG_DEBUG_SLAB is not set
CONFIG_DEBUG_MUTEXES=y
# CONFIG_DEBUG_SPINLOCK is not set
# CONFIG_DEBUG_SPINLOCK_SLEEP is not set
# CONFIG_DEBUG_KOBJECT is not set
CONFIG_DEBUG_BUGVERBOSE=y
# CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO is not set
CONFIG_DEBUG_FS=y
# CONFIG_DEBUG_VM is not set
# CONFIG_DEBUG_STACKOVERFLOW is not set
# CONFIG_DEBUG_STACK_USAGE is not set
# CONFIG_DEBUG_PAGEALLOC is not set
# CONFIG_DEBUG_RODATA is not set

cheers.

Ok, thanks for checking. Just wondering what the likelyhood of
->seek_samples being -36 initially, which will cause this crash. You're
now the 2nd person to have hit this bug.
