processing, just after log recovery (I assume you crashed / rebooted
without unmounting before this boot?). Tim, do you see any situation
in recovery where we might have freed an inode while it was locked?
Not sure how the s_umount_key lock can be involved here, that may be
a separate issue.

Had a look but I can't see anything apparent at this stage,
let's run our unlink recovery test on the -mm tree next week,
which should expose the bug.

Absolutely. The root-fs could not be umounted correctly, since the -mm3 and
-mm4 Kernels sometime produce unkillable processes. One of these
processes had files open on /, thus the reboot left me with an unclean
XFS fs!
