Or maybe:
/sys/class/gpio
/gpiochip-X <-- range X..(X+ngpio)
/device <-- symlink, if it's known
/ngpio
/label
/start <-- maybe; start == X
with the gpio-N links probably going where you showed. That'd be
best in terms of Purity Of Essence.
