I tend to answer both conjectures with yes, especially conjecture A.

AFAIK, you can claim to be King-Kong in any received line, but you
can't fake the IP in the square brackets, because it gets added by the
mail server *after* you sent the mail.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
