This exposes the battery conservation mode present on some (?) IdeaPads.
The mode is set by calling ACPI method SBMC with argument 3 (on) or
5 (off). Status is reported in bit 5 of the return value of ACPI method
GBMD.

Still some kind of nitpicks below.

GBMD = Get BM Data
SBMC = Send BM Command

Generally yes, but of here they are using &val in the second initializer.

So either as is or:

int result;
int val;

result = read_method_int(handle, "GBMD", &val)

I tend to accept it as is when there is a declaration order dependency like
this.

There is a new version which I applied, there is no dependencies left.
