* [PATCH][next] pstore/zone: remove redundant initializations to variable ret

The variable rc is being initialized with a value that is never read and it
is being updated later with a new value.  The initialization is redundant
and can be removed.  In one of the cases, ret can also be moved inside a
for-loop to reduce the scope.

I've refactored this code.
