Subject: 2.4.3 (and possibly 2.4.2) don't enter S5 (ACPI) on shutdown
Date: Thu, 05 Apr 2001 15:14:05 -0400	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <3ACCC3FD.90509@bigfoot.com> (raw)

[1.] One line summary of the problem:

2.4.3 no longer shuts down automatically with S5.

[2.] Full description of the problem/report:

2.4.3 no longer shuts down automatically with S5. I have an Athlon
based system using the FIC-SD11 motherboard. In 2.4.1 and possibly
2.4.2 the system used to shut down just fine.

[3.] Keywords (i.e., modules, networking, kernel):

ACPI, S5, acpid-071100

[4.] Kernel version (from /proc/version):

Linux version 2.4.3 (root@aurora) (gcc version egcs-2.91.66
19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)) #4 Sat Mar 31 13:21:44 EST 2001

[5.] Output of Oops.. message (if applicable) with symbolic information
       resolved (see Documentation/oops-tracing.txt)

No oops

[6.] A small shell script or example program which triggers the
       problem (if possible)

Simply tell the machine to halt and I get a message saying cannot enter
S5 and the machine stays alive.

[7.] Environment
[7.1.] Software (add the output of the ver_linux script here)
