When using "tiny" for taskbar, and auto-hide, selecting/klicking the enlarged
first (K) (KDE) icon, after the taskbar goes to (auto)hide, i get a fatal
error (black screen,bombs at the bottom) I use Red-Hat 7.1 (no updates).
typing root password in req.box, brings me back.

Thats not the kernel, that sounds like some kind of KDE thing

sounds like your xserver crashed. I'd probably consult the redhat bugzilla
database rather than linux-kernel...

Thanks all, my mistake , the way described by me you select the
"lock screen" function but you don't see it... KDE error in timing i guess,
sorry for the troubles...

Sounds for me like you found the screensaver (BSOD) from KDE :)
You get a box where you are required to type in a password, correct?
But nevertheless don't work as user root but use an additional account.
