Hi,
same problem here.
Kernel crashes at boot:

it's a Compaq EVO N800c laptop with 845MP chipset.

with kernel 2.4.20-pre5 it boots but no chipset support(dma).
with kernel 2.4.20-pre1-ac1 no problems:
